The traditional, award-winning Punjabi restaurant 5Tara continue to take Sheffielders on a taste journey as they recently relaunched their menu and opened their second venue in Shalesmoor, Kelham Island!
5Tara began with a highly successful and popular restaurant on Duke Street, Park Hill, where they introduced Sheffield to their traditional Punjabi food, which is rooted in their North Indian heritage cuisine. Their mission and vision revolves around the idea of not just serving food, but also promoting culture, community and sustainability.
The menu in place at the new opening has a focus on street food classics, with the team wanting to show locals how starters differ from street food. There is also a bigger focus on vegan and gluten free dishes, as well as keeping their popular, classic meat dishes.
The main menu has savoury classics as well as innovative creations, and it is guaranteed there will be something for everyone. Dishes include Samosa Chaat, Punjabi Samosa, Butter Chicken, Punjabi Paneer Curry and their famous Lamb Curry, which comes from their 101-year-old recipe. There is also a small children’s menu featuring chicken and rice, crispy chips and even a Babychino, allowing smaller tummies to join in with the fun.
As well as their main menu, they are also running a new ‘Rush Hour’ on weekday lunchtimes at their Kelham Island venue. Aimed at local workers and University students, the lunchtime menu will run from 12pm-2pm and features dishes such as Samosas, a variety of curries and Thali’s, with prices starting from just £5.
Fancy bringing your pooch? The menu even features a ‘doggy menu’ section, providing free dog biscuits as well as pup corn, pup salad and even sniffer beer!
Join 5Tara at their new Kelham Island venture, as they redefine the culinary landscape of Sheffield with their unique street food Indian Restaurant. Bring the whole family for a feast to remember. We can’t wait to visit!
