DevFest: Devonshire Green To Host Free Artisan Festival This Weekend

Sheffield is synonymous with music, markets, food and drink. So what could be better than something that brings all of this together for a completely free, family friendly festival. This weekend promises just that with the first DevFest taking place on the city centre's favourite summer spot, Devonshire Green.

From 12pm to 8pm on 18th May, a plethora of local artisan makers, street food stalls and live DJs will take up residence on the Green to dazzle punters' every sense with their wares with the support of Sheffield City Council.

You can find incredible artwork from the likes of Jam Artworks, Bits and Banners and Feel Good Prints. There's also some wonderful crafty artisan makers attending in Forest Fables Decor, Kathryn Anderson Ceramics and Mirroomakes. This is just a snippet of the talented traders that will be there to view on Saturday with so much more on offer.

It of course wouldn't be a Sheffield festival without a bit of live music, and DevFest doesn't disappoint with a full programme of DJs ready to bring soulful tunes, funky beats and all around good vibes to this addition to the Sheffield events landscape. No two sets will be the same, making DevFest a place we could stay all day.

Away from the music, craft and art, DevFest will also play host to a literature corner with a captivating list of guest speakers and performers set to wow the crowd with the magic of their words.

For those of us who believe Sheffield's true strength lies in its ability to tantalise tastebuds, there will be no disappointment to be found either. Let's be honest, outside of dedicated food festivals, the food vendors usually found at these sorts of events are mostly there to just do a job. Here though, emphasis is set to be placed on deliciousness, with a variety of street food vendors set to transform Devonshire Green into a culinary haven.

The taste journey doesn't stop with the food either as DevFest is working closely with the adjacent Division Street mainstay in the Forum, so you're bound to have all your beverage needs met and then some as well. There will also be specialty cocktails on offer from the delectable The Haybox as well.

The best part about all of this? The event is absolutely FREE! It's family friendly and your ideal chance to welcome in the sunny season with those you love most. For further updates you can keep an eye on their socials here. So save the date, Saturday 18th May, for what looks to be the best way to kick the season off in style.
