It’s that time of year again—when the air turns crisp, the gloves come out, and as Santa gets ready to zoom around the world with his elves in tow, let’s be real: there’s only one place he’d really want to be—Sheffield.
That’s right. Sheffield’s Christmas Market are back and better than ever, turning the heart of the Steel City into a twinkling winter wonderland.
The scent of mulled wine and roasted chestnuts mingles with the sound of Jingle Bells serenading you through the streets, while stalls covered with garlands invite you to indulge in a little seasonal shopping (or just to ogle at some pretty sparkly things).
Whether you're just there for the Yorkshire pudding wraps (we won’t judge), searching for that perfect quirky gift for Aunt Mavis, or simply soaking up the festive vibes with your mates, the Christmas Market has it all. With 60 log cabins brimming with local artisans and traders, each offering some of the finest treats, food, and handcrafted goodies Sheffield has to offer.
Spoiler alert: you'll leave with a stomach full of mulled wine and a shopping bag full of treasures!!!
A must-visit spot this year is Barker’s Pool, where family fun is the name of the game. Santa’s grotto is ready to welcome little ones, offering them a chance to tell Santa exactly why they’ve been “perfect” all year.
And for those feeling adventurous? Hop on the vintage carousel, or try your luck on the brand-new 2024 Helter Skelter. Who says you can’t take a ride with your mulled wine in hand?
Running from The Moor to the Town Hall Square, the Christmas Market is open until Christmas Eve. You can eat, drink and shop to your heart’s content from 10am-6pm Sundays to Thursdays and 10am-8pm Fridays and Saturdays.
So gather your loved ones and head to Sheffield’s Christmas markets this season for the ultimate family day out. After all, Yule be sorry if you miss it!
