The Lost City of Atlantis, Plato’s fabled advanced civilization that vanished into the ocean depths in a single night, has captivated imaginations for centuries as a tale of power, hubris, and divine retribution. But now, humanity’s relentless quest to discover the secrets of this forgotten world beneath the waves is over: the answers lie in a submarine at The Great Escape on Vicar Lane, Sheffield.
Sheffield Magazine visited this venue earlier in the year and enjoyed writing about The Haunted Hound immersive game bar experience and the ‘Run’ escape room but the game makers have made waves again with their newest venture - ‘The Quest for Atlantis’.
The escape room vessel plunges you into the heart of one of humanity's greatest mysteries and combines the thrill of puzzle-solving with the lure of ancient secrets. With every minute ticking down, your team’s mission is to decipher mysterious codes, defend the submarine and locate the history buried under the sea. It was certainly a challenge but with superb on shore help from the friendly and enthusiastic staff (special mention to the very patient Tiana!), Sheffield Magazine completed the quest. Will you uncover the treasures of Atlantis and make it out in time, or will you be lost to the ages like the city itself?
This game is suitable for 3-9 players currently but with a second room opening in the next few weeks, new opportunities to race for Atlantis will open up for up to 18 players. Perfect timing for a Christmas party with an adventurous twist.
‘The Quest for Atlantis’ is an excellent addition to the other four escape rooms, cocktail and pizza bar, board games and The Haunted Hound quest. Additionally, the venue has opened two VR darts experience rooms which is the perfect way to continue the competitive fun post-escape!
Check out The Great Escape website or socials for more information, prices and special offers - including student and budget friendly pizza and drinks deals on various nights of the week.
