Tramlines 2023, photography by Steel City Snapper

Once again this summer, attendees of Tramlines will have their ears filled with three days of the boldest and brightest musical talent that the UK has to offer. As one of the most important cities in the country for musical heritage, our biggest event has to live up to delivering the best and brightest talent from the rich pool of artists in the area. 2024 is just the latest year that Tramlines succeeds in delivering punters a taste of the very best that the region has to offer. So we thought we'd tell you a little bit about the awesome local acts you'll be treated to in July, including those gracing Speaker's Corner, and pick out some tracks to get you started where possible.

Friday

When & Where: The Leadmill Stage, Friday @ 12:00

Track To Get You Started: Vibe

Why See Them: A fusion artist to get hooked on, abs combines elements of funk, neo-soul, R&B and electro-pop to near perfection. Ed Cosens, photo provided by Tramlines

When & Where: The Library Stage, Sunday @ 18:45

But now Cosens has found his own voice as a solo artist and the release of his second album, Somewhere Between Dark And Light, has cemented him as an artist here to stay. It is easy to tell that Cosens has lent his talents to some of Sheffield's best bands, but his solo work is distinct, more in the vein of a Richard Hawley than a Reverend And The Makers - emotive, cinematic and carefully orchestrated to make the heart swell. A perfect way to end Tramlines 2024's Sheffield Showcase.

Day tickets are still available for your chance to catch some of the best talent in the Steel City at this year's festival and can be purchased from Tramlines' website here. If this heapful of homegrown talent somehow hasn't convinced you, then the chance to see some of the best acts in the country with them, surely will!
